Evangeline Securities Limited, more commonly referred to as ESL, was incorporated in 1994 as a part of the Evangeline Trust Group of Companies. Evangeline Trust traces its history to a Special Act of the Parliament of Canada in 1964 and operated in most provinces of Canada as a full-service financial institution.
Trevor I. Hughes, the son of Gordon F. Hughes the founder of Evangeline Trust, acquired ESL in 2003 and maintained its head office in Nova Scotia. Currently ESL is licensed by various provincial securities commissions to operate in the Atlantic Provinces and Ontario. ESL's head office is located in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
ESL is a member of the MFDA (Mutual Fund Dealers Association).
ESL is also a participant in the Investors Protection Corporation and the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments.
